The reminiscences of Halina Feret, a graduate of the university in Wrocław, who then gets employed in the plant, best depict the atmos-phere of those times: “(…) there was a possibility to go for a training to the ceramics plant in Bolesławiec (…)”. Mr Kościński, whom I well knew and was very fond of, was there the supervisor, which made the training even more appealing. In November 1950 my friend Hanka Sawa and I went to Bolesławiec. There at ul.Polna we found a little room in the attic, which was scarce but very warm. At the beginning we were sitting at a little table opposite one another and making projects for vases. Then they were produced by the means of German forms. Simultaneously we were getting to know the work of the particular depart ments of the factory. In the office there worked two middle-aged, married people. He was perhaps book-keeper, and she was sculptor. I remember she would make various fig-ures out of clay (…). When I came there in November, or at the latest at the beginnmg of December, the work in the plant was in fuli swing. I know for sure that it was Mieczysław Pawełko who set the factory in motion and that prof.Krzywiec only continued the co-operation with it sending there his students for training or writing their theses.
